About XLRI
XLRI is one of the oldest B Schools in the country. Founded in 1949 by Fr. Quinn Enright, S.J. in the Steel City of Jamshedpur.Over the years, XLRI has consistently expanded its academic offerings and also enhanced their infrastructure to cater to the increasing demand from students, establishing itself as a leading management institution in India. XLRI were amongst the first management schools in India to internationalise our academic programmes.

What is GMP?
The PGDM(General Management) program, previously known as GMP, is the flagship fulltime, 15-months residential MBA program offered by XLRI for aspirants with more than 5 years of professional/ managerial work experience.
What is Exec-FPM?
The Executive Fellow Programme in Management (Exec-FPM) is a part-time programme and it has been designed to cater to the scholarly needs of working business executives who already have an MBA. The objective of the part-time Executive FPM is to develop prospective scholars for careers not only in management research and teaching but also in management practice, consulting, training, and development.

- Candidates should have a recognized bachelor's degree of a minimum of three years or equivalent in any discipline. Additionally, candidates also need to appear for XAT and obtain a valid score. Thereafter, the selected candidates will be called for an interview.
Eligibility Criteria for FPM

The basic eligibility to apply for admission to the FPM is either: A) a BE / B. Tech. degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) obtained after after completing higher secondary education (10+2)
or equivalent, and followed by at least 2 years of relevant work experience,
or
B) ) a Bachelors degree / equivalent of minimum three years duration with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent, and followed by post graduation (MBA/Master's degree in any discipline) from a university or a centre of higher learning in India / abroad with at least 55% Marks
or
C) an Integrated Master's degree of four / five years in any discipline, with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates), obtained after completing higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent,
or
D) a professional qualification like CA, ICWA or CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates)
Candidates who have the above mentioned basic eligibility can apply for admission to the FPM through any ONE of the following three routes:
ROUTE - 1 (XAT 2025) Appear in the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) to be conducted all over India on January 5, 2025.
ROUTE - 2 (UGC-JRF/NET;GMAT/GRE/GATE) Appear in UGC-JRF/NET or GMAT or GRE or GATE conducted in current year (2024-25) and submit the scores obtained.
ROUTE - 3 (MBA/PGDM) Have a two-year full time PGDM / MBA or equivalent, from XLRI, any of the IIMs, FMS Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, XIM Bhubaneswar, IRMA, SP Jain, School of Management of an IIT, TISS or ISI with a CQPI of at least 6.00/8.00 or equivalent.
Thereafter the shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview Programme.
Eligibility Criteria for Executive Fellow Programme in Management
- Candidates should have an MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or equivalent or GMP/PGPX or One Year fulltime residential programme in Management (with 60% marks). XLRI Admission
For XLRI admission, aspirants are needed to apply online with their GMAT/ GRE/ XAT scores. Aspirants can also apply for more than one course. XLRI admission process comprises the application process, shortlisting of students, group discussions & personal interview process, and finally, the announcement of the result. Given below is the admission process for XLRI:
Round 1: Application Process
The Candidates can only apply to the institute through XAT. To do this, check the XAT website, click on “Register, “ and fill out all the required information. After that, you can verify your email by clicking on the link and proceeding to finish the application process. Do upload all the required documents and then click on “Submit”.
Round 2: Shortlisting of aspirants for GD & PI
As per the information given in the application form and XAT scores, the institute will shortlist the aspirants for GD (group discussion) and PI (personal interview) rounds. Aside from the scores obtained through XAT, XLRI also considers aspirants with suitable work experience, excellent academic performance, and extracurricular activities while the final list is being prepared.
Round 3: Result announcement for admission at XILR
The institute will discharge the merit list of selected candidates based on the XAT scores, GD and PI performance, and other parameters. Students whose names are on the merit list are required to proceed with the admission and pay all the necessary amounts before the allotted time frame

XLRI Placement
XLRI Jamshedpur and XLRI Delhi NCR both have a stellar placement record with 100% placements for the graduating class of 2022-24 across their esteemed Two-year PGDM (BM) and Two-year PGDM (HRM) programs, with all 503 students receiving job offers in the Final Recruitment Process. This placement process unfolded in two phases. Initially, the Lateral Recruitment Process (LRP) catered to candidates with prior work experience, offering them positions above the entry level. Subsequently, the Campus Recruitment Process (CRP) was implemented, wherein candidates were considered without regard to their previous work experience.
A total of 154 recruiting entities participated, extending 519 domestic and 1 international offer, which included 65 new recruiters. Notably, pre-placement offers (PPOs) were extended to 33.39% of the cohort, reflecting the exceptional performance of these students during their Summer Internships. Candidates from both the Jamshedpur and Delhi NCR campuses were involved in this comprehensive placement endeavour.
Placement Highlights
- The median salary offered to the batch stood at INR 28 lakhs per annum with the top 10th and 25th percentile average being INR 51.66 lakhs and INR 42.98 lakhs per annum, respectively.
- The average salary offered to the batch stood at INR 29.89 lakhs per annum with the highest domestic offer of INR 75 lakhs per annum from the BFSI sector.
No. of new recruiters: 65 - The top domains based on the roles offered were Consulting, ITES and Sales & Marketing
Accenture Strategy, Amazon, Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Boston Consulting Group, HCL, HUL, Ola, PwC, Reliance and Tata Steel made the highest number of offers among the regular recruiters. - 33.39% of the students received Pre-Placement Offers.

XLRI Infrastructure
XLRI Jamshedpur has a huge campus with world class amenities. The XLRI Library came into existence in 1949 when the institute was established and was named after the late Sir Jehangir Ghandy, the first Chairman of the Board of Governors of XLRI in February 1972. The library is housed in a spacious and centrally air-conditioned building on the ground floor overlooking the administrative block.
The academic blook also has air-conditioned lecture halls, an examination hall, computer centre and syndicate rooms, all of which contain access-points to the campus-wide network. Classrooms There are twelve state-of-the-art class-rooms with multimedia presentation support. The seating arrangement is amphitheatrestyle and each lecture hall seats 70 students. These class-rooms also support closed-circuit recording and play-back of lecture sessions. The four Syndicate Rooms are multipurpose areas for other academic exercises.
The Campus also has three state-of-the-art auditoriums, fully air-conditioned. Two of these Auditoriums have a seating capacity of about 150 each. These auditoriums play host to internal student events, guest lectures and seminars, and the famed XLRI Student General Body Meetings. The Tata Auditorium, the bigger of the three, has a capacity of about 1500, and is known in music circles to have one of the finest acoustic systems in this region. The Tata Auditorium hosts all major events ranging from the Annual Convocation, the Ethics Oration and Ensemble to perform in arts and music from the finest connoisseurs from India and abroad. It has played host to a huge number of eminent personalities over the years.
Student Residence facilities at XLRI consist of four residences with more than 400 rooms in all. There are two Gents Residences (The Fr. Enright Men’s Residence and The St. Thomas Men’s Residence) and two Ladies Residences (The Nilima Acharji Women’s Residence and The Mother Teresa Women’s Residence). The Residences are well-equipped with facilities such as phones, water filters, coolers and common rooms which create a homely atmosphere. Every Residence has access points linking to the Local Area Network and the various network resources and services.
